Miami River Commission and FIU Miami Downtown Property Boat Tour

The Miami River Commission and Florida International University’s (“FIU”) Jerome Bain Real Estate Institute and Real Estate Business Programs, invited Miami River District Apartments (Terrazas River Park Village and River Oaks Marina & Tower) as guest speakers on the Miami River Boat Tour. The point of the tour was to give students a real hands on understanding of development, land use, investment, opportunity and site selection using the Miami River as their case study. The Boat tour had approximately 100 FIU real estate graduates, undergraduates and alumni.  Other guest speakers included Victor Ballestas, Managing Director of Starwood Residential, who discussed the the Starwood Investment at Mint, Steven Goldman with Greenberg Traurig, Veronica Cervera with Cervera Real Estate, and Francisco Garcia Iglesias the Director of Planning and Zoning at the City of Miami.

Yesterday, the Miami River District Apartments (Terrazas River Park Village and River Oaks Marina & Tower) attended the monthly Trustee Luncheon were the Greater Miami Chamber showcased three diverse institutions with one common theme – their importance to our community. Jackson Health System President and CEO Carlos Migoya discussed Jackson’s central role in South Florida’s health and economic vitality; as well as its path to an improved business plan and elevating the patient experience by offering private rooms. Orange Bowl Committee CEO Eric Poms reminded Trustees that the committee’s historic past is so closely linked to that of Greater Miami and those volunteers in the unmistakable orange jackets that make it all possible. Finally, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind was honored for their 80 years of service to the community and their service to people of all ages who are blind and visually impaired.
